Psychiatry Associates of Kansas City (PAKC) was founded in 1945 and is the largest private psychiatric practice in the Kansas City region. Our group is wholly owned and managed by our psychiatrists and is dedicated to maintaining our independence from the large corporate health care entities that have acquired private practices throughout the area and our nation. Our 12 Board Certified psychiatrists will be joined by two additional psychiatrists in 2017, including a child/adolescent subspecialist. We actively stay informed of the latest developments in psychiatry and recently formed a new division – Advanced Psychiatric Solutions of Kansas City (APSKC). APSKC reflects our commitment to provide new, state-of-the-art, treatment and diagnostic modalities for depression and other psychiatric disorders. We have applied significant professional, financial, management and training resources to these efforts that will continue to evolve as we continuously monitor the developments in our field of mental health. We will offer only new diagnostic and treatment approaches supported by the best research and accepted standards of care.
More About APSKC
APSKC currently offers two major options to our patients:
- Ketamine for Treatment Resistant Depression
- Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for Major Depressive Disorder
We anticipate future additional options, such as:
- A standardized, uniformly applied, diagnostic and genetic testing approach for ensuring the earliest and most accurate diagnoses and medication selection for treatment response.

My name is Kim and I am your chair 2 TMS technician. I have been in healthcare over half my life and have had a rewarding career as a medical assistant, as a 1st assist in the operating room and teaching up and coming medical assistants. Being at PAKC has been a great experience and I feel excited as each new patient starts TMS. It is very rewarding to help patients through their treatments and get to know them. It is wonderful thing to see the depression diminish and the light come back into patients eyes.
I knew healthcare was where I wanted to be growing up. After receiving my bachelor’s in Chemistry from UMKC I began my healthcare pursuit as a phlebotomist and soon found my new home at Psychiatry Associates of Kansas City. Working in the TMS clinic has been an exciting experience and one I feel honored to be a part of everyday.
