Dennis P. Owens, M.D., Ph.D. is a graduate of the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his psychiatry residency at Washington University in St. Louis, where he also obtained his doctorate in Molecular Biology. Board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, he originally joined PAKC in 1994. His interests in clinical research led him to move his practice to Quintiles in Overland Park in 2006, where he was able to continue seeing his private practice patients and also serve as a consultant for new drug development research.
Dr. Owens moved his practice back to the PAKC Leawood office in 2014 and helped form the Advanced Psychiatric Solutions of Kansas City (APSKC) division of PAKC in late 2016. The mission of APSKC is to provide the most advanced treatments and diagnostic approaches for patients with psychiatric disorders, as well as provide opportunities for participation in clinical trials. Dr. Owens is co-Medical Director of APSKC and Director of Medical Research for PAKC/APSKC. His outpatient clinical practice includes the full range of mental health conditions in adults.
